NHS has a proven track record of success in New Orleans.

	Since 1995:
	4,634 families received individual pre- or post-purchase counseling
	2,997 graduated from our homebuyer training classes
	Since 1992:
	1,008 families bought homes
	227 low interest loans were made to low or moderate income families for a total of $4,694,920 investment
	224 homes were renovated with a total renovation cost of $8,253,096
	Since 2001:
	230 families have graduated from our financial fitness classes
	31 Section 8 families have become first time homebuyers

NHS’ work also has a significant impact on the New Orleans’ economy.  A study conducted a few years ago for NHS concluded that between 1995 and June 1999 NHS’ production will generate a projected $1.1 billion in economic benefit and support more than 249 annualized jobs over the next ten years.

Neighborhood Revitalization:
NHS also has four target neighborhoods where we engage in proactive efforts to improve the quality of life. These uptown neighborhoods are: Broadmoor, Milan, Freret and Holy Ghost. We engage in real estate development in each of these neighborhoods. We have attempted a holistic approach to the Freret neighborhood since 1994. In this neighborhood NHS has:

	Established a Mainstreet Program to support the Freret commerical corridor
	Sponsored the Annual Freret Street Festival since 1997
	An after school art program for the neighborhood youth
	Renovated and currently manages 20 units of rental property, including four commercial spaces
	Sponsored annual neighborhood clean-up efforts
	Successfully advocated for the redevelopment of the Evans Playground and is now developing youth sports
	Supported the work of the neighborhood association, Neighbors United
	Commissioned several studies that document the conditions and changes in the neighborhood
