Individual Counseling

Within five days after your Orientation, an NHS-Northshore counselor will call to set up a one-on-one counseling session.  At that session, the counselor will:

• Review with you a copy of your credit report
• Create an Action Plan to deal with any credit issues
• Develop a budget and savings plan
• List the various loan options
• Discuss your current eligibility for securing a loan
• Talk to you about any subsidies available to you

Foreclosure prevention counseling is also available to individuals and families who are enduring hardships beyond their control and have fallen behind in their mortgage payments.  NHS-Northshore counselors are trainined in working with the buyer and lender in order to secure a resolution to the mortgage delinquency.
