After you have completed training, met all financial and credit obligations and obtained pre-approval for a mortgage loan, you are ready to look for a home. There are several things that you need to consider when looking for the right property.

Our Homebuyer Training will provide you with the skills and knowledge that you need in order to be an educated consumer. We will also encourage you to enlist the services of other real estate professionals, such as a licensed home inspector, to make sure that the property you are purchasing is a sound and solid investment. Our ultimate goal is to work with you to find the best home within your price range. Here are a few helpful tips to guide you in your home search.

Type of House and Neighborhood
1. Location - what is the level of noise and traffic?
2. How far are you willing to travel to work?
3. If you have children, what school(s) will they go to and how will they get there?
4. Is public transportation important to you? If so, how accessible is it?
5. What are your preferences for the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, or stories?
6. What style of home do you like?
7. Is the size of the yard a factor to you?
8. What about parking?
8. What amenities are important to you?

Renovate
If you want to purchase a home that is in need of renovation, NHS can help with that, too! We can provide cost estimates and full-fledged construction management services. Our Construction Management Services Department works closely with the HomeOwnership Center to help you get a fully-functioning, renovated home at a price that is within your budget.
