Addressing Blight Blight has been one of the 7th Ward's biggest challenges both post-Katrina and even before. Neglected and abandoned houses have lowered neighborhood property values and contributed to a number of other quality-of-life concerns in the 7th Ward Community. To respond to community concerns and make the 7th Ward a "community of choice," 7th Ward Neighborhood Center staff have initiated the "Fight the Blight Campaign," a resident-led crusade to fight deteriorating physical conditions in one of the most culturally rich neighborhood in New Orleans.
