Access to Technology | The 7th Ward Neighborhood Center provides residents with access and exposure to contemporary technology in order to strengthen leadership capacity. The new Computer Lab offers many programming options. "Computer Basics" helps residents with introductory computer literacy and goes on to develop intermediate proficiencies. "Job Search/Resume Building" assists residents in finding employment by working on job hunting skills and the hiring process from start to finish. The resume building component helps people take their life experiences and structure them into a formal work proposal document. Technology is also used in other exciting ways at the 7th Ward Neighborhood Center. "I-Witness 7th Ward" is a community-based oral history project formed to document the aspects of the neighborhood's local history. New Orleans artists, educators, students and community organizers are working together to record voices of residents by documenting their stories through sound and film. | |  |
