A
critical part before renovating a house is the Home
Inspection which will tell you everything you need to
know about the condition of the property and the repairs
you will need to make. NHS has staff that can do a thorough
inspection for you. NHS will review the inspection with
you to help you understand the repairs that need to
be made and the estimated cost of those repairs.
Our
first priority will be to ensure that your home is structurally
sound and that all major systems are addressed (plumbing,
foundation, electrical, etc.). You may also include
any cosmetic improvements that you would like to have
done.
Once you have agreed upon the scope of the work, NHS
will prepare a detailed work write-up. This will identify
all the repairs that are to be made and how the work
must be performed.
NHS has a list of pre-qualified general contractors.
We know that each contractor on our list is licensed
and insured. You can choose contractors from this list
to participate at a pre-bid conference.
At the pre-bid conference, any contractor who is interested
in bidding on your work will meet with you and our staff
at your home to walk through the house and review the
repairs that are to be made. They will then be given
a short period of time to submit a written bid for the
job. This process ensures that you are getting the best
possible price for the work.
Once you have selected a bid, NHS will work with you
to obtain the financing for the renovations. The lender
will make a loan to you based upon the contractor's
bid that you have selected.
